Providing information to families has been a high priority of PIN since its beginning. Included in this section is a variety of resources concerning mental health treatment, advocacy, legal and program issues intended to educate families.
- Philadelphia Community Services for Children and Adolescents: A Straightforward Guide to Mental Health and Related Services for Children and Adolescents
Popularly known as the Children's Mental Health Guide, this is a resource for parents and caregivers to help them navigate the mental health and other child serving systems to find help for their children. The Guide is written from a parent's perspective. This guide is an acknowledged resource for professionals working with children and their families. This electronic version is regularly updated.

Find information related to diagnosis and medication, the variety of issues associated with treatment including involuntary treatment, advocacy, managed care, consumer education and issues related to negotiating the mental health system.

- The Temple University Child & Adolescent Anxiety Disorders Clinic
The Temple University Child & Adolescent Anxiety Disorders Clinic (CAADC) provides services for children and teens with anxiety. They offer various treatment programs that last from 12-16 weeks. These programs may include individual psychotherapy, family psychotherapy, medication, or some combination of these approaches.

Coping Skills Workshop
The ten week Coping Skills Workshop is offered to all parents and caregivers of adolescents (age 12 to 18) who have emotional and behavioral disorders.
The Coping Skills Workshop is a 10 week series for parents and caregivers of adolescents (age 12 - 18) with emotional and behavioral disorders. The series is presented by a parent/professional team. This workshop was developed for families of children and adolescents with emotional or behavior disorders. The workshop evolved out of an unmet need expressed by families who stated that everyday coping skills were not part of most treatment modalities.
You will learn to:
- Identify and accept your feelings
- Recognize developmental stresses
- Create a low stress atmosphere
- Communicate more effectively
- Set limits
- Problem solve
- Deal with sibling concerns
- Obtain the services you need
